Task Accomplished?

Having a hard time in prioritizing things, and on how to organize and execute each of them? This is a common problem of every people living day by day. To be specific, college students hailed on this dilemma. The inability to prioritize things, and lack of discipline to execute tasks are the common reasons in achieving failures when it comes to accomplishing tasks. What may be a possible solution to prevent this problem among students? The prevention is to manage time or simply Time Management, wherein planning over specific activities and tasks will be monitor.

Managing time will help you prioritize things that are important but non-urgent. Nowadays, people only look for the urgency of things but not on its importance. That’s the reason why the result of a task becomes a failure or worse. This situation also keeps people in a hurry and pressure. Setting up goals through planning, allocating and monitoring time due to specific area of activities will increase the efficiency and productivity of every task. There are methods to comply for achieving a well-balanced lifestyle. It will start on each of us, as an individual who takes daily activities by simply implementing the time management on oneself.

How will a student adapt the management of time? Actually, it will be easy for students accomplishing task one at a time, by putting important and non-urgent matters, first.

One way of being a successful person is to learn how to manage time effectively. It will reduce the risk of failing (especially for students). Time Management is a necessity and seeks to be exercised by each individual in order to attain a stress-free environment. The skills and techniques will be develop and improve while controlling and staying in the management of time. The range of activities will definitely benefit oneself.

After graduation, I am planning to seek for a job that will be totally fits on my skills, in order to provide my family, their necessities. And in return, to the people who helped me to achieve a high quality education, to Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon, I will help other people especially the poor ones.

International Thanksgiving

A glorious morning arrives as my feet lead me inside the ADD Convention Center. I walked through the pavements, carrying a heavy and bulgy bag filled with things needed for a three day thanksgiving.
The ADD Convention Center was crowded by people who willingly offered a thanksgiving unto God. Being grateful for everything positively whether those are for blessings, hindrances, struggles and dilemma.
The International thanksgiving (Pasalamat ng Katawan or PNK) of the Members of Church of God International (MCGI) has become a tradition. It’s a three day celebration of being grateful.
God’s word and other Biblical Facts was converged and interpreted by the MCGI’s presiding minister, Bro. Eliseo Soriano, with his apprentice, the second presiding minister, Bro. Daniel Razon. The truth that is beyond the learning interpretations of other religious affiliations, unleashed. The spontaneous break down of Biblical based information that public craved for eventually diffused. And only Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon can do that. They dig deeply to a more profound, understanding, on the bible by which others ignored.
According to Bro. Eli Soriano, the misconceptions on the Bible and on the wisdom of God rooted from falsifying translations. Various religions have deeply penetrated publics concerned, to gain members and to share their beliefs which noticeably wrong.
The true Church of God patiently offers thanksgiving. Unlike others, whom are really afraid in a one hour mass.
Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon open the mind of their brethren, on the wisdom that is based on the truth. They supplement their brethren a food for their souls—wisdom of God.

Invading the Streets: We Take a Walk

Many take the route, often finding something better for them at the end of the road. Second year Mass Communication students (2B), conquered the streets of the Metro and captured the spontaneous ambiance of the real world.
The photo walk was organized by the basic photography instructor, Director Dominic Meily, with the help of his colleagues-Photoville members.  The entire class was divided into groups which are headed by the Photoville members, who voluntarily lend off their D-SLR cameras unto students. At exactly 9:00 am, photo walk officially starts, and each group is looking forward for a more captivating and interesting events on streets. The crazy, quirky and wild creativity of one’s beholder will make better and cool shots, one click will lead them to best photograph, captured by their own.
Each of us has a purpose that needs to be unleashed. My purpose is to capture and to witness momentous events in the bustling city of Manila. We indulged ourselves in capturing events, infrastructure and most especially the daily lives of people on the streets. We have to capture candid events of different people with different lives.
Our group is headed by Mr. Rodel Lumiares, a photoville member, is composed of six members, Iralyn, Daisy, Grezel, Loreto, Nathan and I. Mr Rodel of photoville gave us suggestions on how a simple photograph will have a touch of creativity. He willingly gave opportunity on each of us to take spectacular photographs. Capturing the perfect moment is the first priority.
A picture of typical street setting inspires us a lot, as we hear it from the experts, Mr Dominic Meily, a certified street photography hobbyist.
As we walked to through the pavements, we meet friends from Canada, wandering in the historical place of Manila, a family of whites who are really awesome. They evidently love our country and it reflects on the mother of a happy family, as her name is Philippine. Those people are easy going.
No wonder that our country really gains popularization and immense global appeal towards other countries. Races doesn't really matter, either the complexion is black, brown or white, because even tourist can’t resist to say that “It’s more fun in the Philippines”.
All day long, the weather is windy, as all of us felt our hairs slapping on our faces. The wave showered men who’ll pass nearby the bay.

At the end of the day, I felt wearied and exhausted for a long walk, yet it’s a fun learning experience that I will treasure. The satisfaction on every piece of images that I captured is an achievement. Truly, the best professor is experience.

UNTV caught an award at Gandingan

Gandingan, a brain child of the UP Community Broadcasters’ Society (UPBroadSoc) have its 7thUPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards. ‘It is the first broadcast-based award-giving body of the entire UP system’. Fortunately, UNTV caught an award. The “Bread n’Butter” was awarded as the Best Livelihood-Oriented Program and the “Blood-Letting”of UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350 had made it to be the Best Development-Oriented Plug.

The main function of the Gandingan is to ‘recognize outstanding broadcasters, programs and materials as well as ‘challenging the media stations in producing quality content.
Various stations have dominated the entire country, yet UNTV vigorously able to compete with the cultural flow of media and have its immense public appeal.
The sudden rise in popularity of UNTV originates from its features. The public service channel that is not blind and deaf on people’s dilemma. It only aims to help the needy. “Ang paggawa ng mabuti ay hindi magbubunga ng masama”, a quotation from veteran broadcast journalist Bro. Daniel Razon, also known as ‘kuya’, is one of the pioneers of the said station. A welfare-looking big brother had launched several public service-oriented projects. Those projects focus on helping the less fortunate. Thus, the community development works and public service outreaches are also extended to the programs produced by the public service channel UNTV37.

Both awards encompassed ‘the recognition of excellence in the four guiding principles of development communication: empowerment, equity, entrepreneurship, and environmentalism. Bread n’ Butter manifests entrepreneurship while Blood-Letting inhibits empowerment.
It has now captivated audiences from various parts of archipelago and of the globe. Compared with other programs or stations, UNTV has its own unique interpretation on ‘public service’. They truly emphasized public service proceeded by the application of oriented projects designed to help the needy. It can be considered as the pioneered in the evolving welfare and one of the main reasons why the culture of public service spread throughout the country.
The obsession of other students in various programs helped them vote effectively. Gandingan awards would not be possible without the vote of UPLB students, who scrutinizes the media content.

One of the hosts of the Bread n’ Butter, Mr. Rodel Flordeliz, thanked the students of UPLB for voting and supporting the program. However, the voting process had proven transparency. On the other hand the station manager of UNTV radio La Verdad 1350, Ms. Annie Rentoy also thanked the students likewise.

UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350 , the radio broadcasting arm of the Philippine Television UNTV, brought back the glory of radio in the mainstream and became possible with the help of kuya Daniel. May the programs launched and produced by UNTV invites rapid enrichment in order to offer more relevant public service oriented projects, in God’s will.

Congratulations UNTV. J

Opportunity knocks only once

Heading off to college is an essential milestone in your life that requires serious effort to think, learn, and grow. It is an exciting and challenging experience that every student craved for. After high school several pre-requisites are needed to successfully enter in college. It takes time, money, and effort. Unfortunately, only people with good and stable employment can afford to supplement their children on tertiary education. Poverty often sees as hindrance and barrier towards better education. The only way for the less fortunate to get into college is to acquire scholarship grant and become a scholar.

A scholar is a student with intelligence and excellence, a student with competitiveness, who deals with lots of commitments, a student with great learning skills that is evidently a quick learner and a role model and a pride of the campus.

I am a scholar hitting the edge towards success, having a goal to pursue and aspiring to become successful in my career. I am a scholar, not of a state university that wraps and hid its purpose, where money circulates, but of La Verdad Christian College-Caloocan. A school who believed that “wisdom based on truth is priceless”.

Different universities and colleges popped out of the blue, offering scholarships and assuring students of low-cost fees but were not. That’s the reason why scholars or ‘iskolar ng bayan’ rebel against the government. Tuition hikes urge the students to arouse anger. Obviously, they have no choice but to accept the fact that even scholars pay for fees. It is not really easy to become a scholar, as you will deal with lots of stress, crisis and study commitments. But as you've accepted it, you have to take care of it. It is a responsibility that will benefit you.

However LVCC is very different from all of the universities and colleges in our country. It is the only school that offers free to all premises: In tuition, miscellaneous, school uniform, meals and even allowance. There is nothing to bother.

Scholars are fortunate as they make a difference, from nobody to somebody. As we get older, things get harder, once the opportunity knocked you, grab it, to avoid regrets.

I am now a second year student of Mass Communication Technology, and planning to continue my course to AB Broadcasting if God’s will. I am very fortunate to become one of the scholars at LVCC, it is a great privilege and I don’t want to lose it. For Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon, the men who both make a difference among the entire population of the Philippines, thank you, for offering scholarships. Most of all, to God, thank You, in making me blessed and in making this world wonderful.

Non-government organizations (NGOs) were now banned from having access to pork barrel funds, as the House of Representatives made a decision that it (pork barrel) would rather distribute among state agencies.

According to Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone, there would be no NGO participation because of the pork barrel scam. The total amount of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) would be distributed among executive agencies that will have the control and discretion over the funds. Presumably, the Department of Health (DOH) for medical assistance, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for college scholarship, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for select infrastructure projects.

However the rendered decisions are all designed to reduce or eliminate opportunities for corruption. The reforms on pork barrel fund system will be transparent.

It all rooted from the anomalous transactions involving the congressional pork barrel, of alleged mastermind Janet Lim Napoles. The P10B pork barrel allocations of certain lawmakers were misused by the fraud NGOs, identified with Napoles. As a result, legitimate NGOs are strongly affected on the issue.

Meanwhile, Napoles is now on her sixth day of detention, not for pork barrel but for serious illegal detention case filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) based on the complaints of Benhur Luy as her victim, at Fort Sto. Domingo in Laguna, where she was transferred from Makati City Jail, following her controversial surrender to President Benigno Aquino III last August 28 at Malacañang Palace.

Christian Living Week

I walk through the stairs, different voices are echoing. There are chorale groups practicing their piece. As I walk further, I feel the presence of shakes and vibrations. There are dancers for the Christian dance rehearsing their performance. I stopped for a while, and hear a soft voice coming from an empty room. I saw a man, singing. Then beside me, I hear two voices interrogating one another. I knew that they are contestants of the Bible quiz bee. It seems like I’m not doing my part as a one of the contestant in the Bible quiz bee. I’m not cooperating with my partner but instead, wandering around. Meanwhile, I escaped from the two interrogating students and went out in a room. I saw our representative, Iralyn Aguilar, seeking an advice on our adviser Mr. Sandro. Ira is better going to best, as she seeks help on several workers at LVCC.
All of these is because of the celebration if the CL Week or the Christian Living Week at La Verdad Christian College Caloocan, which is organized by third tear students, AB31 and led by Bro. Jensen Sobrejuanite.

I feel the presence of CL week in the environment of La Verdad, because of the said preparations executed by the participants.

CL Week was started with an amazing introductory speech and led by the organizers.
Then the other day is the competition, which is started in a doxology of LVCC chorale and Bread Choir. Then followed with the Bible preaching, our representative Iralyn Aguilar, makes the crowd shout because of her great preaching. Next is the bible quiz bee, our representatives are Grezel Jade Pabrigaras and Jeraldine Salin. MCT-13 won the competition, earning Champion in the Bible Quiz Bee together with the HCS-11 representatives, whom are also Champions. Then followed with solo singing contest, wherein our representative, Rholand Austero had a great interpretation in his piece. After that, is our leisure time, we practice our performances. Chorale is the next, our representatives, blasts, as they performed of their best. Then, the mesmerizing moves of the participants on Christian Dance make the crowd alive. As they cheer for their representatives. The program was ended with a prayer. For being thankful of having a successful CL week celebrated at La Verdad. And nonetheless, for being aware of the purpose of bringing CL week, in praising Him.

Dear Kuya

Bringing the 'glory of radio', Bro. Daniel Razon, well-known as 'Kuya', a veteran broadcaster uplifts his long time advocacy. Dear Kuya is born as it is launched last January 14, 2013 and airs at UNTV radio La Verdad 1350 arms the Philippine Television Station, UNTV. From Mondays to Fridays at 9:00 am until 12:00 noon.

Bro. Daniel is the host of the said program. The welfare-looking Kuya helping his siblings.

One of the newest show that tackles about different problem concerns and issues in the society. And is quite  different from other radio programs as it focuses in resolving problems exploited within the community. Different problems like life, relationship and more. Different problems are resolved with the help of Bro. Daniel and guided by Bro. Eli Soriano, whom advice a Biblical-based truth.

I must say that Dear Kuya is quite different from other radio programs because it seeks to help people concerning their problems. Not only the program but also the host himself, is rarely different from other station hosts. As I am a radio user, I've heard a lot of radio programs wherein features a 'phone caller' who seeks an advice prior to his\her concerns. But instead of giving a reliable advice, the station host spontaneously delivers his/her own opinion towards the problem without giving respect, which comes as a joke. That's the reason why the caller lower his/her self-esteem even the absence of his/her appearance. He/she became the laughing stock of the listeners during the entire conversation. It only shows that several hosts, have no respect on people's rights and dignity. In addition, most of the radio programs' purpose is to entertain people, for not being aware of the consequences behind the happiness they bring on their listeners.

Dear Kuya, had given the scholars of La Verdad Christian College Caloocan a privilege to voice over such dramatozation, on stories that seeks a Biblical-based advice. LVCC-Caloocan is honored in having such scholars who work together with Kuya Daniel.

Dear kuya is not just an oriented program but a welfare radio program.

Art Month

Since it is art month, I want to share my favorite anime series. It is Yamato Nadeshiko the wall flower.
The story is about a girl named Sunako Nakahara and is called ugly by the first person whom she confessed her adoration. That’s why changes came into her life. She avoids all forms of beauty, in herself and in life. Because of these changes, for getting worst, her aunt, the owner of the beautiful mansion, where four very handsome students live, offers a free rent in her mansion. But in return they have to make Sunako into a “perfect lady”.
Meanwhile the four guys managed Sunako in becoming a perfect lady, but the problem lies on Sunako as she is not willing to change. Afraid of having the consequences, the four guys convinced Sunako’s aunt to prevent skyrocketing and triple amount of rentals in the mansion for not successfully transforming Sunako into a perfect lady.
But as they continue in turning Sunako into a perfect lady, Sunako suffers in nose bleeding when surrounded with beautiful creatures especially with Kyouhei. However Sunako has not preferably change.
I am fascinated on manga which led me on loving anime series. I am amazed by animes, since I’m 12 years old. Yamato Nadeshiko the Wall Flower is aired in the Philippine Television with Filipino dubbed, and my first favorite anime series. This adoration in animes and mangas results in loving art. I like to draw anime characters, and make my own manga of my own story. This became my hobby for my leisure times.
My childhood manga is W.I.T.C.H., which I’ve read most of the volumes that I borrowed from my sister’s best friends and also the manga lovers.
Mangas turned comics into modernity as it is produced by Japan, one of the most industrialized and developed countries in Asia.
The reason why I love Sunako is because of her characteristics similar to Pamela, my childhood best friend.

Why I am here at LVCC?

"Opportunity knocks only once"

Colleges are the stepping stone towards professionalism. I am fascinated on different universities with a quality education, but poverty prevails. In return of that quality education is the quality fees.

I am anxious for what my mother had decided on my college years. I am about to stop for one year, and try to work for my studies. Instead of losing hope, I've tried different colleges in order to obtain a scholarship grant, for me to be able assimilate a higher quality education.

Ingenuity is my ticket to passed the scholarship exam. Good thing I've found La Verdad Christian College, from a family friend. I inquired and take the scholarship exam. After taking the exam, the registration administrator had already confronted me saying that scholar slots are full, and the only way to get in is if one of the scholars will abdicate in the school. I consider myself as a waiting list, it seems like 50% possible and 50% impossible.

The day after the exam, I received a text message from La Verdad, I'm into scholarship and I need to comply on requirements.

The blaze of desire and enthusiasm in studying, blasts. I am grateful to Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon, for giving an opportunity to attain a higher quality education by poor. the scholarship grant makes my life more convenient for not appropriating fees on the organization. Moreover, instructors, staffs and heads of La Verdad are jubilantly accommodates new students of their school. It was a clever decision that I grabbed and still enjoying. I am aspiring to become a successful, it will possibly be through endeavor. I will not be shocked if La Verdad exceeded other prestigious colleges in giving quality education for students. Through this I may uplift my family fortunes.

3 idiots (Movie Review)

3 idiots is one of the movies that captivated me. The story focuses on the main characters that are engineering students at the Imperial College of Engineering, one of the best Colleges in India. Farhan Quereshi (R. Madhavan), Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and Rancchoddas "rancho" Shyamaldas Chanchad (Aamir Khan) are also room mates in a hostel within the school. Rancho came from a rich family while Farhan and Raju are average students. These three students became friends as they conquers every challenges and hindrances bravely. Farhan has joined engineering to fulfill his father's wish but beyond, he wants to become a wildlife photographer, on the other hand, Raju wants to uplift his family from poverty. Rancho is a wealthy genius who enjoys studying and have a passion on building machines rather than the obsession of other students on exam ranks prepared by their Professor Viru Sahastrabudhe/Virus (Boman Irani). By whom Rancho is irritated after their fellow student Joy Lobo hangs himself inside his room after rejecting his Project.

Professor Virus find a way to destroy the friendship of the three students. In contrary, Virus model student is Chatur Ramalingam / Silencer (Omi Vaidye). Who believes that a high rank would be his ticket into a higher social status, power and wealth. In addition, the honor of making a speech was awarded into him. Instead of having pleasure , he became a laughing stock of the of his fellow students because of mindlessly memorizing the speech.

They continue to anger Virus, but Rancho always comes first in class while Farhan and Raju obtained the last two positions.

Then Rancho fell in love with the daughter of Virus, Pia. After the confrontation of Pia with her Dad, who makes Rancho, Raju and Farhan's life miserable, Virus had realize something. The death of his son revealed. As he is not died in an accident but committed a suicide for forcing him to take engineering but is in love in literature.

After stealing the exam, Rancho, Raju and Farhan were expelled on the spot. But as Virus' elder daughter is about to give birth, in the middle of the storm. Rancho helped to deliver the baby as he is instructed by Pia who is still self imposed after the confrontation with her Dad. After giving birth, Virus reconcile with the three students and allows them to take the final exam to graduate. As usual, Rancho had received Virus' pen that is kept for decades and waiting for a brilliant student.

The story is framed as flashbacks. Ten years, Chatur planned a revenge on Rancho for embarrassing him at the award ceremony and swear to become successful than Rancho would. Raju and Farhan starts a journey in finding their friend Rancho. As they find different Rancho reality revealed by the true identity of him. As Rancho is an impersonator of  the lazy, wealthy child, to have a degree in Engineering as dreamed by his beloved father. They find their friend teaching childrens at Ladakh. Raju and Farhan get Pia out of the wedding from Suhas to meet fake Rancho. Count on me by Bruno Mars (favorite song)

My favorite song is Count on me by Bruno Mars.

I value this song because friends mean a lot to me, especially the best one's. It is hard to find a real friend but it is easy to find a friend. I am inspired by this song as i was captivated by past memories together with my friends.
I can rely on this song with a woman named Maisie Rivera whom is my neighbor, classmate and best friend. We became friends as both of us were came from heterogeneous section that became a homogeneous section. Being the first section student is a pressure not because of academics or highly expectations of teachers but the social life inside our class. We experienced discrimination by our classmates that results in drowning self-esteem. Racist of the class were grouped as their hobby is to bully students. Instead of giving up we face the music. In order to build up our self confidence we gave our best on studying academically and performing extra curricular activities.

After all we had  proven are strengths that amazed our classmates. Different aptitudes reveals as we perform professionally.

We're like sisters that shares secrets. Every time i have a problem, Maisie laid a helping hand and every time she has a problem I lay my helping hand. In spite of the fact that we're not studying at the same colleges we're always kept in touch through phone and internet.

Real friends are hard to find but I've found my best friend Maisie. :)

Count On Me

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like 1 2 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4 3 2
And you'll be there
Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Wooooh, Wooooh
yeah Yeah

If you toss and you turn and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song
beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Everyday I will
remind you

Ohh
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like 1 2 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4 3 2
You'll be there
Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Wooooh, Wooooh
Yeah Yeah

You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go
Never say goodbye

You can count on me like 1 2 3
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4 3 2
You'll be there
Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Wooooh, Wooooh
you can count on me cos' I can count on you

I, My, Me, Mine

Hey, I am Jeraldine T. Salin, Andine for short. I am 17 years old from Obando Bulacan. I am taking Mass Communication Technology at La Verdad Christian College. A fresh grad from Polo National High School. Recently, I am interested on reading books, magazines or article. I recognized what Bro. Jensen Told us about what Bro. Daniel, said "When did the last time that you read a book for your own learning?" Then, I asked myself when? Actually i don't read a lot unless i have to. I am trying to cope up with this habit.

I love watching movies especially horror films. I grew up watching these kind of movies with my cousins. When it comes to book, i prefer to read novels, recently i just read Montmorency by Eleanor Updale. I also have a talent on arts, i can draw, accessorize and design. I am a repair man who fix loose things.

My most memorable moment is when i became a Laverdarian. That is a privilege, being a full scholar with nothing to pay for. I've expected the unexpected. Thank God for a wonderful opportunity he has given unto me.
I love to develop my skills in order to accomplish things that i never used to do before. Improving makes difference.

 Go extra mild.
